Its functional, but I prefer to load everything in ableton live, and ultimately logic pro when I sprout the balls, and intellect, to learn it. Saint Joe who is a member here and elsewhere posted a slick work around using reaper as the vst host and sending midi from maschine to reaper. You can load maschine as a vst and use it in protools or any other daw like you do b4, kontact et cetera. what you can do, is: load up each and every battery sound and some are even in the stock maschine library already. As to the VST, you cant load vsts into maschine proper because it isnt a vst host, but I am pretty sure thats on the horizon. Well think of maschine as battery lite in some instance, I know that there are a more than a few crazy features on Battery that are not implimented in Maschine (yet i imagine). And im not ready to drop them yet because they still have real good synths and Battery is a great drum kit programer. I seen the videos on how you could sync it with Tracktor but I seen no videos supporting Native Instruments other great products. Īnd I know it comes with it's own Daw would I be able you load up Native Instrument VST's In it to adapt to my work Flow EX. Because I been using Pro Tools for about 8 years and im stuck in my groove so if wanted to track out my songs for mixing how will that work could I assign each track to a track in Pro Tools? And im one of the few people out there that uses Battery 3 anther Native Instrument product would Maschine read my battery kits if i loaded them if some im sold. But theres two major issue I have that ill need everyones support on how is the learning curve behind the Maschine and what is the connectivity with VST's and DAW. You made some valid points in your thread my MPC 1000 is my second MPc because my 2000 the screen started to go on me. I mean I could go on and on extolling the virtues of Maschine ownership but until its in your paws, in your setup, making light, you wont see the benefit, 'cause even the demo in stores doesn't do it justice. GC gouges your eyes out when you try to return a pristine, damn near unused MPC to them. Second hand mpc's and even first hand ones can be difficult to get a refund for. Take the plunge, the worst case scenario is that you somehow hate it, but you can always return it. You have support and a good report with the company as a customer.ĭon't get me entirely wrong, I don't think the mpc is worse for all situations, only in mine is there no real comparison. The Value is higher because you get features being added all the time.

Putting it very simply, the TCO, is lower because you are still gonna need a pc to track out with an mpc, or outboard digital recorders, not terribly cheap. They poll their customers as to features they want to see implemented and then do it! Their communication regarding the status of development or on bugfixes is superb. I am a serious fan of other Native instruments products and the main reason is their engineering staff, and their quality control staff frequent the native instrument forums. Or updates and bug fixes that never come. My money is on Akai considering they have a loooooong record of doing just that, and in doing so leave their customers scrambling for parts like screens (MPC 2k/xl anyone?) I am willing to bet in a few years that 2500 screens will go for over 300$ and the new blue ones wont work in them. The real mpc vs maschine question is who is gonna end-of-life their model first, akai or Native Instruments. Tell me how many sounds a new 2500se will get ya? Let's be honest about the content though, ultimately even that really isnt all that important. Not just drums, but new instruments, effects, and the like. You are getting new content in these updates.
